IV Conscious Sedation

With intravenous sedation, an anti-anxiety medication is administered into a vein. By request, you can be given medication to temporarily numb the skin so you don’t even feel a pinch. IV sedation is the most predictable method of sedation in which a deeper level of sedation is desired. Only reversible sedative medications are administered to our patients to increase safety. Also, anti-nausea medications are given to provide maximum comfort. A profound state of relaxation and amnesia can be achieved with this state of sedation.

Sedation medication will put you into a state of deep relaxation. Most patients do not recall much about their visit about the procedure, simply arriving to the office and soon after are at home relaxing.

Receive Dental Treatment With Conscious Sedation

When you make an appointment at Sun Dental, you can receive conscious sedation as part of your procedure. Before beginning your treatment, we'll give you the appropriate medication through an IV. We'll monitor your blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing throughout the treatment to make sure your procedure goes well.

Pain-Free Dentistry

Dental procedures with conscious sedation are completely pain-free, and you will be unaware of the process, much like an endoscopy. The sedation medication is continually administered to reduce any chance of pain or discomfort. Other types of sedation are available, including oral sedation and nitrous oxide.
